Auto Racing Schools

So, you want to go VROOOOOOMMMMMM on the dirt track like the big boys and girls?  Don't have a clue how to get started or what to do but you know you like the sport and want to pursue it? 

Luckily for you there are auto racing schools out there that will show you how.  If you haven't grown up in a family that has been involved in dirt track racing or auto racing (some for generations), you will need to learn the basics, especially the basics of staying safe.  This could include the kinds of gear you will need to wear as well. 

Attending an auto racing school might lead to learning so much that after you put it into practice, you may want to enter the field as a professional or even as a teacher of the sport!  We've listed a few of the more well known auto racing schools across the country.  Some are more expensive then others.  Some provide quick courses (1-3 days).  The courses are a combination of classroom, one-on-one time with an instructor, and lots of track time in a wide variety of cars. Some courses even count toward getting specific types of racing licenses.

Many of the car clubs and racing organizations have programs of their own, but they usually aren't as in-depth as what the professional schools offer.  Also, most schools are privately held businesses, but some of the major car dealers like BMW and Porsche offer factory-sponsored classes.  The shorter courses are designed so that will give you enough of a "taste" of the sport that you will know if it is right for you.  Make sure you check out the schools thoroughly through phone calls and internet research and even personal recommendations before you give anyone your money.
